Gozer's Raw Blues Are Closer to the Delta than Devon.
Rebuilt and Remade
Plymouth’s Gozer Goodspeed crept onto the local music scene in 2016, but his extraordinary voice and folk/rock/blues style quickly gained the attention of festivals and venues across the country.
Gozer’s finely honed song writing skills are evident on Rebuilt and Remade, the stripped back acoustic EP gives him absolutely nowhere to hide; this EP is Gozer himself laid bare, celebrating his love of folk and a strong affinity with the sound of raw blues.
Gozer spent lock down reworking the four long time crowd pleasers included on the new EP plus writing the title track and brand new song Rebuilt and Remade. Each track is so good that picking a favourite is almost impossible, Running With The Outliers always delights, but is just edged out by Ear To The Ground, a full on blues makeover closer to the Delta than Devon. During live performances with his band Gozer’s vocals are sometimes hidden behind the music, but on Rebuilt and Remade they are given centre stage and send shivers down the spine.
Recently signed to music collective and record label Lights and Lines, Gozer is currently working on a new album for the full band Gozer Goodspeed and the Neon Gamblers, which should see them in the recording studio later this year.
Rebuilt and Remade is available now on Bandcamp –
Gozer is live at Plymouth’s Rock Bottom Bar on Friday 18th June.
