All The Swagger Of A Live Show In A Three Minute Anthem

Chay Snowdon

Tough Guys Die First

Men Cry Too, the 2019 release from Chay Snowdon, stood out from their previous work as a landmark, more grown up single and a pointer to the direction these young dudes were headed towards. Here we are in October 2020 and they drop Tough Guys Die First on us further confirming their growth in stature and confidence. The latest offering stems from Chay’s love of classic movies and early Westerns when you knew the bad guys would lose out to the good guys before the end of the movie.

These ultra cool young West Country Indie Rockers bring all the swaggering style of their live shows to Tough Guys Die First – listen to the track and you can easily picture front man Chay strutting his stuff and owning every inch of any stage. Chay is everything a band could ask for in a front man; a classy rhythm guitar player who is both fearless and fabulous with a voice unlike any other, he takes the audience on an electrifying journey knowing that his rock solid band mates are right there with him.

With no live shows for months the boys have poured everything they possess into Tough Guys Die First, condensing the excitement of a live show into a 3 minute stadium anthem. Tough Guys is destined to be a hit with Luke Westwood’s stellar drum pounding perfectly complementing the rolling bass sounds of George Roach while lead guitarist Jack Hawkins makes his machine scream (in a good way).

The band cite Kings of Leon as a big influence, but there is a touch of early T Rex in there too when a young Marc Bolan leapt onto the scene with his mesmerising vocals and straightforward pop style. The finest bands have a special something that is impossible to define and Chay Snowdon is one of those bands; what they have is hard to explain, we simply know they’ve got it in spades.

In the past the boys have supported the likes of The Snuts and The Sherlocks, been picked up by 6 Music’s mighty Lammo and played a raft of high profile festivals, Tough Guys Die First will bring them even more attention.

Chay Snowdon worked on Tough Guys with the legendary John Cornfield (Supergrass/Muse/Stone Roses etc.) who is also heavily involved in the band’s highly anticipated upcoming E.P.
